That's an improvement, certainly. But this formulation would include
medieval saints (which latter I would reformulate to 'saints venerated
medievally') from abroad whose relics are said to have been brought
into England (e.g. Blaise). Whereas I took the original
formulation 'English medieval saints' as more nationally intended,
i.e. 'saints who in their lifetime were English'. And I still wonder
about 'where they were held'. Does that mean where they were held at
first or, instead and proceeding from John's reformulation, at any
English church where they may have been held during the Middle Ages?
Best again,
John Dillon
