Subject: RE: book drops
Karen,
We have had non-automated book drop facilities in place at Blackburn Central
Library since 2003, and they have worked well for us, cutting queuing times.
Respondents to PLUS surveys since have shown that customers are more
satisfied with the amount of time spent waiting for service, and we feel
that the book drop facilities, together with self-issue terminals, are a key
factor in this. If you want to know anymore, feel free to contact me or
Adele Karwat, the Central Library Manager on 01254 661221.
Thanks

Subject: book drops
Do any local authorities use book drops for users to hand back items when
the library is closed? Have you experienced any problems with this set up?
We are considering this as an option and would appreciate any feedback.
thanks
