Dear colleagues, firstly of course, apologies for any cross-posting, which
we hope to keep to a minimum.
E-Learning in Practice is a 1 day national conference on the application
of elearning within and to the NHS and its staff, but with a particular
theme relevant to evidence-based practice. Organised by the same team
behind the 'Evidence in Practice' conferences, the conference is to be
held in Bristol (UK) on Wednesday September 13th, 2006. The conference
will have a mix of plenary, parallel and poster sessions, together with
hands-on opportunities to learn more about elearning.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
We are inviting oral and poster abstracts on three broad themes;
- E-learning experiences within the NHS
- E-Learning at the cutting edge
- E-learning of / within evidence-based practice / clinical effectiveness
The closing date for both oral and poster abstracts is a little over three
weeks away, August 14th.
KEY SPEAKERS
We have four excellent speakers who will set the scene for the development
of elearning in the NHS
- Mr John Bewick (Director of Strategic Development, NHS South West)
- Prof Sally Glen (Pro-Vice Chancellor, University of Wolverhampton)
- Dr Luisa Dillner (Head of BMJ Learning, BMJ Publishing Group)
- Prof Phil Candy (Director of Education, Training and Development, NHS
Connecting for Health)
When selecting projects for oral presentation, we will look to showcase
the small local projects as much as the national headliners.
WHO IS THE CONFERENCE FOR?
- Those with corporate or departmental responsibility for elements of
education and training with the NHS
- Educators looking to incorporate elearning into their NHS programmes
- Content providers (NHS, academic or commercial) of elearning relevant to;
- core/mandatory training
- specialist training
- continuing professional development
- NHS staff keen to integrate elearning into their personal development

COST
We're not out to make some huge profit, and you're probably just as fed up
as we are with conferences that charge in excess of £300 per day. The
delegate fee is a modest £50. If you're interested in elearning and the
NHS - we want you to come, not stay away. As a final inducement/reward to
come, if your oral or poster abstract is chosen for presentation, you will
get a guaranteed free place (ie we tear up any received booking). All
booking information is on the conference website, but with a limit of 180
delegates, places will go quickly.
EXHIBITORS
As with our previous EiP conferences, we are not charging exhibitors
extra, but space will be limited so we will be choosy. Contact us for
further details.
