A local cluster I set up (3 fixed + ~20 floating computers) is running
ubuntu (dapper). The 2004 version of Starlink runs happily over that
platform, which has become popular for general use too. It would be nice
if future versions of Starlink kept compatibility with new versions of
ubuntu. My own box uses debian and runs one of the latest CVS versions
of Starlink.
Cheers,
