Do any library services out there require young people to produce a
Validate UK card, or similar, to prove their age when joining the library,
or requesting specific services with age restrictions (access to partially
filtered or unfiltered internet use, borrow film videos/DVDs, etc.)
Validate UK is a nation wide proof of age scheme for all ages and is
approved by the Government.
We are having problems with a small number of young people under 16 years
old who are circumventing our existing safeguards and getting access to
adult category internet as 'guest' users.
How do others deal with this?
