medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
An occasionally recurring topic on this list is the use of a cruciform
halo in representations of persons other than Christ. One fairly well
known instance is St. Januarius' ChiRho halo in Naples' Catacombe di San
Gennaro. When the matter last came up I was unable to find a decent
Web-based view of this halo. Here are two:
