I imagine that this Museum's Newsletter will interest you all / 27 / 02 /
2006

1) - As many people told me that they liked the other
documentary I sent about Carnival in Rio,
here you have a link to another small documentary I did
about the carnival parade "Simpatia é Quase Amor" (Affection is Almost Love)
which paraded yesterday next Ipanema Beach . There you will find five
photos, five movies for fast download (they have not hight quality) and two
movies with hight quality for those that have fast connection. Pay attention
on the amazing colors, they are a consequence of the light, the parade was
in the sunset.. Do you know how many people were parading? 30.000 !!!!
Uauuu! Also you will see the T-Shirt created by my friend, the artist Paulo
Villela
being used by many people. (http://arteonline.arq.br/carnaval_2006/ , click
on the right image)

Also I would like to say that I add two hight quality movies to the first
carnival 2006 documentary: "Imaginou? Agora Amassa" ("Have you imagined? Now
you knead"), (http://arteonline.arq.br/carnaval_2006/ , click on the left
image, the new movies are on the pages 01 and 04)

To conclude I would like to say that I really liked these 2006 carnival
documentaries and I believe that with them you will have a small notion of
the Street Carnival in Rio. But it is impossible to send you the impression
of feeling the sound very near, dominating your body and making you dance,
it is really magic.
Tomorrow it will parade again the famous "Ipanema Band", but I will not
report it, I will only dance ;-) !!!

If you have any question, please ask me. If you have any comment, please
send me also.

2- Words of One Syllable

New on The Hyperliterature Exchange for February 2006: my review of "The
Syllabary", a work-in-progress by Peter McCarey, which maps all the
monosyllabic words in the English/Scottish language onto a huge grid, and
will eventually include a short poem for every one of them.

"Whatever its merits or demerits as a piece of new media, The Syllabary
undoubtedly succeeds as a piece of writing. The originality of its concept
and the 'sound poem' of monosyllables would make it worth a visit by
themselves: but what makes it worth going back to time after time is the
unfailingly high quality of the little poems it contains..."

To read the whole review, go to http://hyperex.co.uk/reviewsyllabary.php .

The Hyperliterature Exchange is an online directory and review of new media
literature for sale on the Web. More than 120 works are now listed. Please
visit and browse at http://hyperex.co.uk .

3- "Project for a Great Mother Earth Cyborg"

I would like to invite you to see my other new work: "Project for a Great
Mother Earth Cyborg" (
http://tell-a-mouse.be/sacrifice/terre/parts/regina/regina.htm ) at Tamara
Läi's project: "The sacrificed Earth /La Terre
sacrifiée / a Terra" ( http://tell-a-mouse.be/sacrifice/terre/Terra.htm).
This project is being exhibited until March 30 th at the Museum of Modern
and Contemporary Art of Liège, Belgium. There are already many artists
participating and perhaps you want to participate too.

My "Project for a Great Mother Earth Cyborg" is a portion of my future
e.artist's book, in which I am working these days It will be a story of bio
art and literature, but it is based on a real event. Also it is related to
"primitive" (not complex) cultures.

*****************************************************

A hug for all,

Regina Célia Pinto
