Last night I got to thinking of a perhaps odd juxtaposition of outcomes:
1. The South Korean scientist forced to resign - a national disgrace -
because he essentially created a big lie about his teams cloning research
accomplishments. (The world is pleased with the outcome)
2. George Bush remains in power (as does Tony Blair) without any sense of
disgrace after their own teams of experts fake the WMD intelligence to
justify the invasion of Iraq (which produces much more horrifying
consequences than the faked cloning fiasco.)
I think we can call this absence of the President's disgrace a form of
"domestic mental colonialism" in which the (USA) body has been invaded by
viral media agents which now have the function to construct 'control and
surveillance' mechanisms that now eliminate previously established genetic
and democratically performing orders of 'checks and balances'.
Some say Moby Dick went crazy from brain washing. Some see the figure of
Ahab every time Bush & Company shout "Complete Victory" - when asked about
what they seek to achieve in Iraq. Some begin to think the USA will become a
mirror of Iraq.
Corporate & mental colonialism without 20th century geographic boundaries.
Right inside our own domestic door.
How is that for darkness!!
