Hi Kris,
I had one specimen from a context dated 1397-1533 from Dudley Castle,
West Mids.

Subject: [ZOOARCH] Moorhens (Gallinula chloropus)
Dear all,
I am currently analysing bones from medieval contexts from Oxford,
and have come across 3 bones of a moorhen (Gallinula chloropus). Does
anyone know of any other archaeological finds of this species
(especially those from Medieval sites), and/or references to their
consumption/attitudes towards them in the Medieval period?
Many thanks for your help in advance,
Kris Poole
