I think this is a good suggestion. I have certainly changed from being a
contributor to more of a 'lurker' following messages on this list being
taken out of context and used 'against' institutions. It should be
remembered that people sign up to this list because they want to improve
and develop how Universities deal with plagiarism. Being self-critical is
part of the process of developing better practice. If a significant number
of people on this list now chose not to take part in discussions to prevent
their ideas/viewpoints/suggestions taken out of context then it might be
better to restrict membership.
