Chris, Eduardo and all,
In a brief outing from a lurking position, I couldn't resist picking up on Eduardo's language and gender poem, and being a native of a totally gendered language as well (Hebrew),
I made a small comparison to find (to my surprise?) that portuguese and hebrew are identical (so far) with one meaningful exception:
Science, in hebrew is Masculine.
And so the list goes on:
Design - masculine (?!)
friendship - feminine
road - feminine
city, any city - feminine
village - masculine
computer - masculine
opportunity - feminine
and exceptionally rare:
Knife - both
best wishes from Jerusalem, a city (feminine) joined together by an 8 meter high wall (masculine or feminine, different words available, official term is feminine)
