The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design is looking for
a few good researchers interested in contributing new knowledge to
Design. An independent School within the University, programs are
taught in English under the guidance of an international and
interdisciplinary faculty. Successful applicants will exhibit strong
analytical skills and language competence, as well as curiosity
regarding research methods, understanding of Design as a discipline,
significant self-motivation, and the ability to sustain independent
action.
Interested potential Ph.D. students are encouraged to examine the
School's research interests and identify a possible interest match.
Research is supported in the following areas: Asian Lifestyle;
Computational Tools & Methodologies in Design; Design, Business and
Strategic Design; Design & Technology; Human-Centered and
User-Centred Design; and Design Education Studies.
Post-graduate students are a mix of local Hong Kong, Mainland China,
and Western. Hong Kong is a vibrant world-class city with the School
of Design strategically positioned between East and West. Its mission
envisions the future of design through excellence in education.
We are accepting applications now for research students interested in
pursuing a Ph.D. with us beginning September 2007. The priority
