Dear Mr. I-designer
You should check out "The Role of Graphic
Design Activity in the Design Process" by Charles W. Rusch in Moore,
G.T.1970, Emerging Method in Environmental Design and Planning, Cambridge
Mass, MIT Press perhaps the best work yet done on this subject.
And if you have the fortitude: Glasgow, J, Narayanan, N and Chandrasekaran,
B (1995) Diagrammatic Reasoning,Cambridge Mass., MIT Press. A resource for
considering what sketching might actually convey.
Good luck
Chuck
