IFA Workplace Learning Bursary in the field of bioarchaeology (specialising in zooarchaeology) at Cardiff University

Applications are invited for an HLF-funded IFA Workplace Learning Bursary at Cardiff University in the field of bioarchaeology under the supervision of Senior Lecturer Dr Jacqui Mulville.
This is an excellent opportunity to receive training in all aspects of commercial bioarchaeology laboratory management and practise (specialising in zooarchaeology): including contract management, publicity, time management, the curation and development of the comparative collection as well as gaining specific experience in all stages of zooarchaeological research including the evaluation, assessment, recording, analysis and the production of reports for publication. The successful candidate will also be trained in the role of bioarchaeologists in the field, and will be encouraged to attend an excavation. There may also be an opportunity to use the experience gained in this placement towards a vocational qualification in archaeological practice.
We welcome applicants with experience in identifying and recording faunal material, who have a relevant qualification along with computing experience. A proven ability to complete written reports is essential. The Bursary holder will be based in the Osteoarchaeoalogy laboratory within the School of History and Archaeology, University of Cardiff, Cardiff, Wales.
