Dear all,
After our succesful meeting in Basel last year, it is already time to think
about our next meeting in Antibes, France. The Fish Remains Working
Group will hold its conference at the Palais des Congrès, Antibes,
French Riviera between the 18th and 20th October 2007.
The goal of this conference is to bring together advanced scholars
and novices interested in archaeoicthyology and provide a forum for
the interchange of related knowledge.
This meeting will deal with any issue concerning archaeology of Fish,
worldwide. Contributions on the following topics are specially
welcome :
- osteometry (a thirty years assessment)
- fishing methods and strategies
- fish processing and trade
- human impacts on paleobiodiversity and communities structure and
dynamics
- fish as indicators in paleoecological/paleoclimatological approaches
Contributions with a larger scope or a multidisciplinary approach are
also encouraged, since their main object remains Fish.
This meeting will be held in homage to Jean and Nathalie Desse for
their determining influence on the development of the French and
international archaeoichthyology.
We invite you to join us in Antibes and participate or attend the
conference.
For people who would like to, please send us a message with your
intention, and if possible a title, before the end of August.
All the best, Philippe, Sandrine, Benoit
