Thanks for this. Just for further clarification: the initial assumption
that the aurochs were of an earlier date relates to their possible
interpretation as ritual deposits within the spa complex; the spa had
declined in use by the end of the 3rd century AD. There is indeed much
other evidence of their presence in the region from other sites.
