Subject: RE: [ZOOARCH] FW: Ritual shafts with dog burials
Hi Jessica
Try also Mill Hill, Deal, Kent dug by Keith Parfitt and Dover Archaeological
Group, the site is published, but i looked at the animal bones from the
romano-british ritual shaft (can't remember the precise date) from which
there were a number of dog remains, my research hasn't been published
(undergrad dissertation) and don't know if anyone else has since looked at
the material since, but if you're interested i can probably give you the
results that i got, if you ok it with Keith Parfitt (Canterbury
Archaeological Trust). Let me know...
If i remember correctly (it was a while ago now) also in Kent is the site
of Keston and i think Springhead, Maidstone dug by B. Philp - Kent
Archaeological Group (??), i'm sorry these details are very shaky but might
give you something to start from, should be published in Kent Archaeological
Review or even Arch. Cant.
