Stock Procurement in Public Libraries - Beyond the Supply Chain Review
Lakeside Conference Centre, Aston University, 26th October
Are you taking the opportunity to talk to the instigators of the PKF Report
direct? Come along to the NAG Stock Procurement Seminar at the Lakeside
Conference Centre, Aston University on 26th October to take that opportunity
up!
Aston is an excellent venue, within easy walking distance of Birmingham city
centre and the programme includes not only Andrew Stevens and Sarah Wilkie
of the MLA but speakers from a variety of perspectives in Stock Procurement
and Supply.
Stock Management School
Marsham Court Hotel, Bournemouth, 9th/10th November
This is the year for Stock Management in NAG and we are repeating the use of
the Bournemouth venue used for last year's Acquisitions School, the Marsham
Court Hotel. This was not only a pleasant venue but proved accessible for a
large number of people, including Scottish delegates, as Bournemouth not
only has good rail links but is close to several airports. Delegates to the
last Stock Management School in 2003 were overwhelmingly ready to recommend
the School to colleagues - follow their lead and join us in Bournemouth.
The School is designed for members of public library staff at middle or
senior stock management level who have responsibility for and oversight of a
range of stock operations including selection, maintenance, exploitation and
promotion. A mix of tutor presentations (we know student presentations
aren't popular!) and group working will support the sharing of best practice
through the exchange of information and identification of priorities and
targets.
Places are still available for both these events but going fast so
register now!
More information about both programmes is on our website at www.nag.org.uk
<http://www.nag.org.uk/>
