I wrote my dissertation on him, Actually, about his liturgical office
for the Immaculate Conception (1439), especially from the musica
point of view. During my research, I found no cue about him as
a franciscan, although his ideas about the dogma could be assimilated
to the franciscan position (Scotus).
Antipope Felix V (the former Duke of Savoy Amadeus VIII) made
him a bishop and cardinal. After the end of the basle schisma, he
was assigned as bishop of Saint Jean de Maurienne (Savoy), but soon
retired in the priory of Aiton in his bishophric (right english word?)
where he died after having translated the Coran in latin.
His musical skills in the composition of plainsong are very high:
he used all the devices of the medieval modal theory in order to
obtain colourful music with many rhethorical effects.
Avec mes meilleures salutations
