Possibly so, but that person's cause would have to be promoted by his
or her supporters. Many heroic and holy people have never achieved
sainthood for lack of a support group. That's why members of religious
orders do well in the sainthood stakes: they have no lack of supporters
to promote their cause. Actually I think the present Pope is not going
to be in quite such a rush as his predecessor to canonise people.
