Dear all,
**I apologise for cross posting**
I wonder if anyone has required the use of a "NOT ADJACENT" operator.
I am attempting to search for two different modes, telephone and interview.
The problem is sometimes telephone and interview appear together such as
"telephone interview" but I am more interested in when they appear separate
from each other e.g "telephone questionnaire versus face to face interview".
However, i know some articles will have "telephone interview" AND "telephone
questionnaire versus face to face interview" featured, and i would like to
retrieve these hits as part of the search.
I have attached a ven diagram to give a visual representation of what i am
trying to achieve i.e. the very centre "Not ADJ" + "ADJ". and the type of
article that i would like it to locate. Telephone and interview Highlighted.
I don't know how you would programme this type of search, but it can be
logically evaluated as IF (count TELEPHONE INTERVIEW = count INTERVIEW, 1 if
true, 0 if false) retrieve all false.
I think this operator could be really useful when applying limits to searches.
Does anyone know how to achieve what i am trying to do?
Or, if you think it would be useful contact your db provider and ask them to
programme it in.
Cheers Adrian Sayers
