medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I understand that there are also rabbinic texts which claim impregnation through
ritual bath for at least one rabbi's daughter, of such excellent upbringing as to be
beyond suspiction. Sorry, I can“t supply references.

medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Here is my last on the virginity, perpetual or otherwise, of Mary. This is all
100% true and only incites speculation. It will probably abhor some of you,
but I offer it as somethings I have stumbled across.
There is a documented case of virgin birth in the United States where doctors
testified that the girl was a virgin at and after the conception. The court
awarded paternity to the swimming pool where the girl swam because evidence
presented in court showed that they had not used sufficient spermicide. Don't
look for this on the internet as it was that long ago. I believe it was during
the seventies. I am sure a good legal clerk could find it. I thought it merely
curious, until I read in archaeological reports about Roman baths in Palestine
during the time of Christ. There was even one in Nazareth. So far as I know
no commentator has jumped on this--and seriously doubt that one will anytime
soon--but I am sure our illustrous list members have something to say.
