The Cochrane Health Promotion and Public Health Field would like to invite you to attend its many presentations and meetings at the upcoming 2005 Cochrane Colloquium in its home base city, Melbourne, Australia.
The Field will present on a range of subjects, including:
Topic prioritisation and reviewer support for production of global health promotion and public health reviews;
Integrating 'qualitative' studies and trials in reviews;
Review priority setting with young people, policy-makers and researchers;
Handsearching for public health and health promotion studies;
Increasing specificity in searches of PubMed for Health Promotion and Public Health studies;
Testing approaches to searching for public health reviews;
Evaluating use in practice of the Guidelines for systematic reviews of health promotion and public health interventions.
Workshops will be presented on:
How to conduct systematic reviews of health promotion and public health interventions;
Using the findings of 'views' studies to explore the findings of effectiveness studies in systematic reviews;
Engaging Health Promotion and Public Health practitioners and policy makers through summary tables of the findings of Cochrane reviews;
A 90 minute special session will be hosted by the Field, tentatively titled, Journey of a public health Cochrane review - overcoming challenges from idea to publication
An open Cochrane Health Promotion and Public Health Field meeting will also be held to discuss current initiatives and future directions for the Field.
The Field, together with their collaborators, are also hosting a one day, post-Colloquium symposium on October 27, 2005:
