medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Doctissimi --
It is not too soon to consider offering a paper or, better still,
getting together with colleagues and offering a coherent session for
next year's International Medieval Congress (IMC; 10-13 July 2006) at
the University of Leeds. The deadline for individual paper proposals in
31 August 2005; for organised session proposals, it is 30 September 2005.
Proposal forms and further information on this congress are available here:
http://www.leeds.ac.uk/imi/imc/imc2006/imc2006.htm
General information on the IMC will be found here:
http://www.leeds.ac.uk/imi/imc/imc.htm
Please note that the Congress' special theme (in 2006, Emotion and
Gesture) is an emphasis only. Good contributions on all aspects of
medieval studies are equally welcome. The IMC considers "medieval" to
refer to the period ca. 300-ca. 1500.
That said, it is possible that in 2006 there will be another session on
aspects of Latin letter-collections. This year's (2005's) session is
sponsored by Medieval-Religion; with sufficient participation from this
list there is no reason why that sponsorship should not continue.
Persons interested in helping to organise this or any other session
having to do with the writing, speaking, or teaching of Latin are
encouraged to get in touch with me.
With all best wishes,
John Dillon

PS: And a belated Happy Tenth to all!
PPS: That was _not_ a reference to tithing.
