We were pleased but not surprised by our result for the stock quality health check. As we had already made substantial changes to how we bought stock, targeting readers and monitoring usage, the actual health check hasn't been used to make major changes, but it did confirm that we were on the right track and that we didn't need to make any further changes to procedures.
We are not being complacent however, as we have targets to raise adult fiction issues by 3% per year for the next three years. We have already started investing more in our poetry section, and will be focussing more on promotion of fiction stock, monitoring usage by genre and target audience.
