Music in Mediaeval English Parish Churches
A day conference to be held at
The Faculty of Music, St Aldate's, Oxford
on Saturday, 30 April 2005, 10 am to 5 pm
The conference will explore the social context, the use of buildings, the
surviving evidence for music, organs, patronage, and two case studies,
with contributions from scholars currently active in this field:
- Beat Kuemin (Warwick University)
- Paul Barnwell (English Heritage/York University)
- Magnus Williamson (Newcastle University)
- Dominic Gwynn (organ builder and organ historian)
- John Harper (RSCM/University of Wales, Bangor)
- Jane Flynn (Leeds)
- Lisa Colton (Huddersfield University)
- David Skinner (Magdalen College, Oxford)
There is no charge for members of the society. Non-members will be asked
to pay a fee of GBP10 on arrival (students and senior citizens, GBP5).

5.10 pm.
