medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Am not aware of this verse as a stand alone liturgical item, although I
don't have access to any indices of versicles for Matins/Vigils. Might have
a look at the index in the new edition of the Nocturnale Romanum that
appeared recently (2003?) if you have access to a copy.
Not directly related, but I have seen the verse used as a prelate's personal
motto on his coat of arms. Also, fwiw, with reference to Dennis Martin's
question, a google search turned up some interesting web pages like this one
that tie in the Knights Templar usage, Kipling's hymn, and the use in Henry
V. http://www.osjknights.btinternet.co.uk/templars/nonnobis.htm.
