Subject: OS flat maps
The Editorial Effusion on page 3 of the latest Cartographiti refers to
a proposal by OS to discontinue issuing its standard
small-scale publications in paper-flat form. I am very surprised to
have seen no mention of this on this discussion list, as I should have
thought there were considerable implications for map libraries, who
have 'geared themselves up' round flat maps, and who would be faced
either with investing in new cabinets, and doing the flattening and
cutting off the covers themselves: a time-consuming and wasteful
proceeding.
Or is the problem being addressed? We ought to be told!
