medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Erik Drigsdahl and others have been very helpful to my efforts to
translate two pages of Alanus de Rupe's _Unser lieben frauen psalter_
(1521 ed.). Erik in particular put it into modern German for me,
which helps a lot, since 16th century German appears to have a couple
of letters of the alphabet that I'd never seen before <g>.
Having floundered through these two pages, I'm now interested in
reading the rest of the book. Does anyone know of a translation into
English, or Modern German? Having one or the other to read
side-by-side with the original would be a tremendous help.
The book is also seen under the title _Psalterium Virginis Mariae_
and came out in various printed editions starting in 1483, with at
least seven printings before 1502. I see there's a Swedish
translation (1923) but that's the only language other than Latin and
the original 16th-century German that I know of.
Thanks again --
