I guess it ought to be mentioned that the 22 February one is the Feast of St.
Peter's Chair at Antioch. The 18 January one is the Feast of St. Peter's Chair at
Rome. Both are greater doubles. The propers are identical.
There is this interesting Rubric in the Anglican Missal, which is used by the
Anglican Catholic Church:
"Mass as on January 18th, without Commem. of St. Prisca.
"§ In Lent, Commem. and Last Gospel of the Feria in non-conventual Masses. On
Saturday, except in Leap Year, Commemoration is added of the anticipated Vigil of
St. Matthias, as is noted on the day following. This commemoration of the Vigil on
Saturday is made even outside Lent, but with the addition of the Last Gospel of
the Vigil. In the latter instance, after Terce a Mass is said of the Feast out of
Choir, without Commem. of the Vigil, and after None a Mass is said of the Vigil in
Choir, without Commem. of the Feast, with the addition in Masses of the Vigil of
Collect 2 'of St. Mary'; 3 'for the Church'; as given after Low Sunday. Private
Masses may be said in Lent ad lib., either of the Feast or of the Feria, or of the
Vigil; outside Lent, either of the Feast or of the Vigil in accordance with the
Rubrics."
I'm sure that the foregoing Rubric clears it all up for everybody. ;)
Oh, by the way, the Feast dates from A.D. 354.
