medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I can't tell from your message which of the latest two "word"
postings/corrections you're referring to. But in case it's "faux pas," your
reasoning doesn't apply. "Faux pas" means literally "false step" and is
never used as an adjective, unless one coins a phrase such as "faux pas kind
of day," in which case, I suppose, the humorous misuse of the term may
permit one to treat it a an adjective. The posting that started all this did
not use it in that way. If you can cite a dictionary in which "faux pas" the
noun is hyphenated, I'd like to know about it.
