This course is designed for library staff who may have some contact
with handling music materials and queries. It provides a basic
introduction

* be aware of the nature of music titles
* know how to search for music materials in library catalogues
* be familiar with major reference sources in music
* have considered how to handle requests for performance sets
* know what kind of information is needed to handle music ILL requests
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
The course is designed for those members of staff who may have to
handle music enquiries as part of their work but are not music
specialists. It covers music of all kinds, printed and recorded, but with
an emphasis on understanding the nature of classical music requests -
usually the most difficult for staff to handle
