Thanks for the advice. In fact, my need is a very prosaic one, just to
control geographically a few thousand bibliographical entries submitted by
contributors to the Who's Who. As I undestand it, and it's still being
worked out, there would be no need to go below, e.g. the county level for
the UK. The hierarchy would serve two functions: to enable those inputting
to select one or more areas relating to what they'd written, and to enable
users to search in a similar way. This broadly corresponds to what we did
with the last printed edition, if you ever saw that. To give an idea of the
expected volume, most counties would have between zero and four entries, I
would guess.
So nothing very sophisticated or elaborate. I'd just rather not have to
knock one out myself.
