medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear Sandra,
Are we talking about the Roman Mass here or the prefaces from the communion
services used in Protestant and Anglican churches? The authoritative text
of the Roman Mass is Latin and the English and German versions are
translations of the Latin. Also, in the Roman Mass the formula introducing
the Sanctus varies according to the liturgical season and feast days.
Hope this helps to explain rather than make things more obscure.
