We also have an issue regarding the use of Prompters.
The regulations state that the prompter must not speak to the candidate
and must only tap on the desk or on the candidate's arm to remind the
candidate that they must pay attention to the question.
A high proportion of our candidates have disabilities. It is
inappropriate to tap on the desk when there are students with cerebral
palsy in the room. However, it is also not appropriate to tap the arm
of a student with Aspbergers.
It would be more appropriate to say the student's name but this would be
in breach of the regulations.
Are the regulations causing difficulties for other centres?
