Research Adviser
17.5 hours per week
£34,223 - £39,225 pa pro rata, inclusive of London Weighting (pay award
pending) - 17.5 hours (flexible hours can be negotiated)
Our vision for the profession is one that promotes and values high quality
research and has a strong scientific basis. If you’re committed to making
this a reality, this could be the post for you. Raising the profile of
physiotherapy research and using high quality research in practice are key
objectives of the CSP’s current strategic plan. You will provide advice and
support to members on all aspects of research. You will also advise a wide
range of other individuals and organisations on research programmes and the
evidence base for physiotherapy, in order to raise the profile of the
profession.
A key focus of this post is responsibility for managing and further
developing the Society’s research awards schemes, working closely with
members of the Scientific Panel, the developing Research Network and
another Research Adviser. Your work will be an integral part of the
Research and Clinical Effectiveness Unit’s business plan and you will be an
essential member of a talented team.
You will already have, or be working towards, a postgraduate research
degree.
You will:
 have experience of obtaining grants for, and undertaking research
 be skilled in literature reviewing
 be cognisant of current research policy
 have high-level analytical skills
 have good report writing, oral and written communication skills
 be an effective networker in order to be able to work in partnership with
groups and individuals within and outside the profession.
