Thanks Ted
A lovely example (shame I couldn't video it) of the true usefulness of 3D animations was on CNN news during hurricane Rita. The forecaster had the usual backdrop of a perspective view of the southern states and the swirling storm. He then said, "Let me flatten the picture so you *get a better idea* [my emphasis] of where the storm is." Direct admission that these fly-over views are less informative than the conventional projection map.
I also commend the DVD of "The Day Today", predecessor or the new series "Broken News". Having seen her, who would forget Collatory Sisters and the superbly fatuous business graphics?
Back to the studio,
Allan
