A quick (belated) note to those of you who were unable to make the Chambéry conference this year.
A great time was had by us all: the programme was excellent, the setting delightful, and the food succulent ... What more do you want! A million thanks to the local organisers.
A few changes in the committee to report:
First of all, I wish to express our most heartfeld thanks to Aidan Coveney on behalf of the whole Association. Aidan stood down as Chair of the Research Committee after 6 years of devoted commitment to the Association in that role, and in many others before that. We will miss him on the committee, but know we can count on his wholehearted support of the work of the Association. Many thanks, Aidan.
He has been replaced by Vera Regan (University College, Dublin) as Chair of the Research Committee, and we wish to welcome her.
Our new Postgraduate Officer is Blandine Guillot (Australian National University, Canberra), and we welcome her too.
Please consult our website for details of these changes, and of the forthcoming conference in Bristol (5-7 Sept 2006), including the Call for papers. AFLS will be celebrating its 25th birthday, and had its first ever conference in Bristol in 1981; we intend to celebrate appropriately!
As you will know, our website's address has changed recently to http://www.afls.net
