There has been considerable concern and confusion over
the provision of sweat test diluent for the
measurement of Na and Cl in sweat on the above
instrument. Some 18 months ago there was talk of it
being discontinued as Bayer were not prepared to CE
mark it due to low volume sales.A recent order was
returned with the comment that the product had been
discontinued.
This now seems to be an error on the part of Bayer
sales. The product has changed catalogue number, but
Bayer insists that it will continue to support the
instrument and all consumables until 7 years after the
last instrument was sold. This takes us to 2007 to get
a business case in for an alternative!
Bayer have promised to write to all users with the
correct product codes and emphasize their continuing
support for this application.
