We have noticed a problem with Calcium over some time now using CFAS on the Roche Integra, and it appeared to be mirrored, but not so pronounced on the Modular system.
It appeared there was a slope in the calibration on EQA, low at low values and high at hiugher levels, with a crossing of axis around 2.4 mmol/L.
Roche have tried to sort this out unsuccessfully, and it sounds like they may now have made it even worse. So I'm looking forward to getting one of those letters from EQA about performance soon.
Regards,
Gary

We have that batch too, although we haven't started using it yet.
Jim Carson, BMS2, here ran it against lot no 064692-01 (Exp 2005-09) and got
the following values:-
1.96 1.94 1.92 1.95 1.92
This looks very similar to what Helen found.

Calibrator
We noticed a shift in our Calcium values following the introduction of a new
batch of Cfas Calibrator on 7/12/04.........Product Code: 10759350 190 -Lot
No: 166275-01- Exp. Date: 2006-02
The quoted value for Calcium is 2.03mmol/l . However, a value of 1.93 /1.94
mmol/l was obtained when this new calibrator was run against our previous
calib. prior to the switch to the above calib.
This has been queried with Roche, and they claim the value of 2.03 mmol/L to
be correct. Has anyone else noticed a shift upwards with Calcium using this
Lot Number?
