A postdoctoral research position is immediately available in the group of
Kent M. Ervin in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Physics Program
at the University of Nevada, Reno. The DOE-funded project is designed to
develop gas-phase ion chemistry techniques for determination of
thermochemical values for neutral hydrocarbon radicals of importance in
combustion kinetics. The work involves guided ion beam tandem mass
spectrometry, statistical rate theories, and ab initio calculations.
The University of Nevada, Reno has an active group of chemical physics
faculty, providing a supportive and stimulating scientific environment.
The Reno/Tahoe area provides a very high quality of life.
The position announcement is appended below. For this Postdoctoral
