Judith,
Perhaps the information on our website at
http://www.nls.uk/professional/interlibraryservices/services/music_interlending.html
could be of assistance.
We also have a (somewhat tatty, possibly out-of-date) slip catalogue of individual music items. Additionally, NLS (ED/N-1) has a Music collection - material isn't for loan but, depending on copyright regulations, photocopies of individual pieces MAY be feasible.

Subject: Locating Music books in general
Dear All,
I wonder if anyone on this list has any suggestions of
catalogues/database to try to locate music books. I am becoming
concerned about my failure to find many of the music books or single
pieces of scores requested by my readers. The impression I have is that
the libraries that hold the material my readers want are not linked in
with the joint catalogues I use for my standard ILL location checking
(COPAC, WORLDCAT, BOPAC2, UNITY). The Encore database only really covers
vocal scores and orchestral sets (as do many of the paper catalogues I
have for music held in different regions of the UK).
In order to do try to locate more of the material requested I think I
really need to be checking the specialist music libraries' catalogues
one by one. Whilst this will be more time consuming I feel that my usual
search methods are not working for this subject. Does anyone have any
suggestions of good libraries to try? Addresses of their on-line
catalogues would be really helpful (to save time otherwise wasted
posting on-spec requests).
Any suggestions will be gratefully received!
