medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
As a probable aside to this discussion, there are also
two 16th century English carols based on 'O' Antiphons
and ascribed to the Smert/Trouluffe combine. Both
feature (in liturgical order) in Lbl-5665. Neither
features in any other collection of carols of the
period, and there is, to the best of my recollection,
no evidence of leaves missing from the manuscript.
Presumably if they wrote a full set ther others
weren't copied by this scribe.
I reproduce the following from Greene's Early English
Carols principally because I can't be bothered to get
the microfilm off the shelf ;o)
