Information for Scotland and the Cultural Commission
29 November 2004, Edinburgh University
The programme for this year's Information for Scotland Conference -
Scotland's Cultural Landscape - is more or less finalised. Following an
overall survey by Jim Tough of the Scottish Arts Council, three speakers
will review current issues affecting the Library, Museum and Archive domains
in Scotland.
Following the well-established format of recent Information for Scotland
Conferences, three breakout sessions will run in parallel before lunch, and
be repeated after lunch. As the outcome of this year's conference will be
feedback for the Cultural Commission, these breakout sessions are organised
around the Commission's own themes. The Conference will conclude with
feedback from these sessions and a plenary discussion on the issues raised.
As usual, the lunch session will allow delegates to view posters of relevant
projects and initiatives, and see demonstrations of some online projects.
This is a unique opportunity to bring together delegates from the three
domains and to discuss the issue that face them within a single forum.
Common issues, or major divergences, will be identified.
This year's conference is once again in Edinburgh University Library's
Wolfson Suite, on Monday 29th November. The cost is £50 for the day
(including catering). Full details of the program are available at
