medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
One of the images that occurs is that of Christ as
> hunter and humanity as the quarry.

I would be very interested in finding other allusions to the
> Christ of the Passion as a hunter in late medieval Europe as a whole
> (including Britain and Ireland).
If I may dare to mention a modern reworking of this, there is Francis
Thompson's poem The Hound of Heaven - once very well-known and much
anthologised. (FT was a lapsed RC ordinand who died of TB, drink & opium in
1907.)
Another modern image of Christ is the Shaker poem (hymn ? is sung as a hymn)
"Jesus Christ the Apple Tree" which is even more extraordinary.
This sort of imagery is clearly still alive and well.
Can supply text if required.
Sorry, George if this is OOO.
