We have some lone working in our libraries and we have a number of
procedures in place to ensure safety (panic buttons, personal alarms, no
lone working after 5pm etc.). Following suggestions from staff we have
been trying to set up a call in procedure, where staff from a lone working
branch phone another branch every hour. If the second branch doesn't hear
within 10 minutes, they will phone the lone working branch to make sure
everything is OK.
Unfortunately, this isn't working. People forget, they're busy with
customers and can't get to the phone etc.
Does anyone else have procedures for lone working that they'd be prepared
to share?
Does anyone have any bright ideas?
Thanks in anticipation,
Sarah
