I have been analysing some data from a clinical trial and results suggest
that although patients from areas of greater social deprivation (as a proxy
for SES/social class) appear to have poorer health on presentation, they
appeared to derive greater benefit from the clinical trial by improving
more than their less deprived counterparts. This seems to suggest that
social derpivation may be a predictor of response in clinical trials.
I am interested to know if anyone has references of any articles reporting
similar findings in any disease previously. I have been searching
literature but have only been able to find evidence of social
deprivation/poorer SES as a predictor of poorer outcome/response.
