Hi folks,
let's go in reverse order :-) I'm Charles McCathieNevile, I work at W3C in
the SWAD-E semantic web project, and I joined the list because I am
interested in the way dates and times are described and because I talked
to Douglas about dates last night, with regards to the issues of ranges
and syntaxes and the W3C DTF format...
... which is a W3C member submission. This is something that is a very low
status document at W3C in the sense that there is minimal review - maybe a
team member provided some comment on it but it was published essentially
as a service that W3C offers to members, allowing them to give something
they think is interesting a stable and persistent address.
So it seems to me that there could be a relatively simple process for
publishing something that updates the current note allowing for a
hypen-free syntax and for an arbitrary range specified other than the
built in ranges (one "day", one hour, one year, etc).
Since I am at DC 2004 I am hoping to talk to at least Doug and Eric today
(hint, guys :-) to get a better feel for the best way to follow this
through.
Cheers
Chaals
