Travel And Movement in Medieval Italy, c.500-1500
University of Limerick, 10 -11 June 2005
Call for papers
This conference aims to bring together scholars from Europe and America
for two days of inter-disciplinary discussion and debate on the theme of
travel and movement in Medieval Italy.
' Medieval Italy II' will be opened by the Italian ambassador to Ireland and
the keynote lecture will be delivered by Dr Francis Ames-Lewis of Birkbeck
College, London.
It is hoped to publish selected papers from the conference together with
papers from ''Medieval Italy I', which was held in the University of
Cambridge in April 2003.
Proposals for papers on any topic relevant to the conference theme are
invited.
Proposals, accompanied by a brief abstract, may be sent to any of the
conference organisers (by December, 12, 2004, please)
The University of Limerick is easily accessible from Shannon Airport
(direct flights from major UK airports) and by rail. University
accommodation will be available to conference delegates.
