medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
For an authoritative recent take on this subject, see _Sources and Analogues of the Canterbury Tales_, vol. 1, ed. Robert M. Correale and Mary Hamel (D. S. Brewer, 2002). The Parson's Tale chapter, by Richard Newhauser, gives the key sources both in Latin and in modern English, as well as a useful introduction and bibliography.
